- fold some kitchen paper in half then half again. Soak this in warm water. - Place the rockwool cube under a fluoerescent light minimum 36" away on a light cycle of 18 hours on/6 hours off (darkness) - or place by the window provided there is at least 18 hours of daylight.

| Taking cuttings or clones | |
This is slightly more complex. You will first of all require a MOTHER plant...that is a plant on an 18 hour light cycle with some health shoots which can be 'cut' off and cloned into rockwool. The mother plant will ideally be about 2 feet tall before it can be cloned from. - insert the stem into some Clonex cloning gel and coat with the gel. - spray you nutrient (Formulex EC strength 5) onto the leaves every 3 hours min. The plants will wilt initially, just keep spraying them and within 3-4 days they should start to root to the rockwool cube. Each time you spray them, it is the only way they can receive nutrient as the cuttings have no root system. - within 3 weeks they should have a healthy root system and should be ready to go into a 3" rockwool cube. Now you are ready to grow your baby plants. |
